Next stop on Poppy’s Asian Tour is Japan, landing Thursday June 1st! For the occasion we have prepared a very special drink, indeed! And Poppy is pleased as punch to introduce it to you… Sparkling Yuzu Matcha!
We can safely say that this is a concoction of the highest quality. It features 100% pure Yuzu juice sourced from Japan, Matcha Nude matcha, which is grown at the base of a volcano in Kagoshima, cubes of housemade matcha jelly, and “blue water” (made with spirulina) to add a volcano-inspired effect of land and sky.
Fun fact: There are 111 active volcanoes and if you include non-active, there are in total 440 volcanoes in Japan.
As part of this stop on the tour Poppy also wants to promote Heiwa Shokudo Authentic Japanese Restaurant. Heiwa is located at 87 N Lexington Ave in downtown Asheville, and is the only Japanese-owned and operated restaurant in town. Chef/Owner, Dai Sugimoto, trained in Japan and has more than 27 years experience. He works diligently on his recipes, ensuring that every customer gets a traditional and authentic experience.
Heiwa Shokudo offers healthy, natural Japanese food with many vegan, organic, and gluten free options. The menu features Sushi, Sashimi, and other traditional authentic Japanese dishes but also utilizes local ingredients when possible. Hijiki (dried sea vegetable ), a delicious appetizer, is a customer favorite. There is indoor and outdoor seating, a private room, and their own parking lot.
